Woolen came to Philadelphia as a free agent, still early in building whatever this chapter of his career becomes. The details of what brought him here are his own, but the early returns from the Eagles' spring practice sessions are clear enough: in a handful of practices, he has already left an impression.

That matters more than it might sound. Spring is when rosters are still truly open — when a player can walk into a new building and, in a short stretch of days, change how an entire organization thinks about him. Woolen appears to be doing exactly that.
