All-Pro season, one knee, and now a Tuesday morning list

He gave Green Bay one of the best defensive seasons anyone could ask for — and did it on a torn ACL. Now the Packers have made it official: Micah Parsons is on the physically unable to perform list, sidelined to start the year.

Parsons came to Green Bay and earned first-team All-Pro honors in his debut season with the team, even after missing three games because of the knee. That is the part that stays with you — the award, yes, but also the fact that he was out there at all.

The PUP designation means he cannot participate in practice or games while he works back from the tear. He was not in the initial wave of Packers players placed on injury lists; Tuesday is when his name got added, quietly and officially. The target for a possible return is around Week 6 — a game against the Dallas Cowboys, a team he knows well.

For a player who already proved he could operate through serious pain, the harder thing now is waiting. He cannot play his way back onto the field. He just has to heal.

Week 6 is circled. Whether the knee cooperates is the only question left.
