Breece Hall is staying in New York, and the Jets made it official
Some things in the NFL feel inevitable until they suddenly aren't. Breece Hall staying a Jet was one of those things everyone assumed — and now it's done.
Hall arrived in New York as a first-round pick a few years back, the kind of player a rebuilding team builds around. He's been through enough already: a torn ACL in his rookie year, a long road back, and seasons where the team around him didn't always make it easy. Through all of it, Hall kept showing up as one of the better running backs in the league.
Now he has a new contract with the Jets, locking him in as they figure out what this next chapter looks like. The team is in the middle of sorting out its roster — the running back room included — and Hall's deal is the clearest signal yet of where he fits in that picture.
For a franchise that has leaned hard on Hall and asked a lot of him, this is a bet on continuity. For Hall, it's something simpler: proof that the work held up.
What the Jets build around him from here is the real question.
