Bryan Bresee's knee doesn't look great, and the Saints know what that means

The words a coach uses when they don't want to say the words out loud: "doesn't look great." That's what New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore offered after Bryan Bresee went down with a knee injury, and anyone who has followed football long enough knows what usually comes next.

Bresee is a defensive tackle — the kind of player who lines up in the middle of the defensive line and makes life hard for everyone around him. He was a first-round draft pick, which in football means the team bet a significant piece of their future on him, and by all accounts he had been living up to that bet. He was one of the Saints' most important defensive players.
