Chris Bell hasn't played a snap yet, and training camp already started without him
The hardest part about arriving somewhere new is when you can't actually arrive yet.
Chris Bell signed with the Miami Dolphins as a rookie wide receiver — someone just starting to figure out what his life in professional football looks like. Before any of that could begin, a torn ACL at Louisville last December put it all on pause. Bell is now on the non-football injury list, which means he sits out training camp while his knee continues to heal. The team can see him, but the field is off-limits for now.
Bell came into this summer already behind. The injury happened before his NFL career even technically started, so there is no highlight to point to, no moment that introduced him to his new teammates on the field. Just the work of getting back to something he hasn't lost yet — only delayed.
That gap closes eventually. The question is just how much of this first season he gets back.
