Cole Bishop finally got a full season — now he's just trying to protect it
Last season was the one Cole Bishop had been working toward. The Buffalo Bills safety played in all 17 games as a full-time starter — a milestone that means everything to a player who has spent time proving he belongs.
This offseason, Bishop had a cleanup procedure on his knee. It's the kind of surgery that sounds routine but lands differently when you've just had the season that earns you that starting job. Nobody wants to spend the spring rehabbing when there's ground to hold.
The good news, according to Bishop, is that he expects to be healthy and ready when training camp opens. So the work is the work — ice packs and rehab sessions and the kind of patience that doesn't come naturally to someone who just got a taste of being out there every week.
All 17 games. That's the number he built last year. The goal now is simpler: show up in July with the same knee and the same job.
