Cornerback · Philadelphia Eagles
Cooper DeJean
No. 33 · 3rd season
Cooper DeJean walked out at a Morgan Wallen show and Philly absolutely lost it
Morgan Wallen rolled into Philadelphia wearing a vintage Allen Iverson jersey — already a strong opening move in this city — and then brought out Cooper DeJean to finish the job. The crowd did not play it cool.
DeJean is the Eagles' cornerback who spent his rookie season making plays that had the city fully convinced he belongs. He is young, he is good, and right now Philadelphia claims him completely. Showing up at a sold-out concert in a town that still runs on Iverson mythology is about as clean a cultural moment as a 22-year-old can have.
Wallen choosing that jersey, in that city, and then adding DeJean to the moment — whether that was planned or spontaneous, it landed. The crowd understood exactly what they were seeing.
Some athletes are famous. Some become part of a city's actual fabric. DeJean is somewhere in that second lane right now, and a night like this only moves him further in.
