Wide Receiver
Stefon Diggs
No. 8 · 12th season
Diggs is coming home, and Washington is betting on what that means
There is a version of this story where Stefon Diggs just needed the right door to open. It opened in Washington.
Diggs grew up in the DMV — the metro area that calls the Washington Commanders its own. He spent years building one of the more durable receiving careers in the league, reaching 1,000 yards in a season seven times. That is a mark most wide receivers never reach once. He has done it seven times, in multiple cities, with multiple quarterbacks.
Now he signs a one-year deal worth up to twelve million dollars with the Commanders, stepping into a role alongside second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels — a young passer who, if last season was any indication, is going to need real weapons around him.
For Diggs, the contract is short, which means the pressure is real. One year to show the league he still belongs at the top of a depth chart. One year in front of a fan base that watched him grow up. For Washington, it is a calculated move — bringing in someone with the résumé to mentor and produce at the same time.
A DMV kid, home on a prove-it deal. Watch to see if the crowd knows what they're watching.
