Harbaugh says the legs stay
Some coaches see a quarterback who can run and quietly start drawing up ways to protect him from himself. John Harbaugh is not doing that.
Dart came into the New York Giants' building as a prospect built on improvisation — the kind of quarterback who makes things happen when the play falls apart. That ability to move is a real part of what he is, not a bonus feature.
Harbaugh made that clear, saying publicly that the Giants are not going to take away Dart's running ability. He knows the math on mobile quarterbacks — the big plays, and the risks that come with them — and he is choosing to let Dart be Dart.
That is a meaningful thing for a young quarterback to hear from a head coach. It means the leash is real. It means the full version of him is welcome here.
The question now is what Dart does with that room.
