Offensive Tackle

Reid Holskey

No. 67 · 2nd season

Holskey came in on a tryout and left with a contract

Most players who walk into a minicamp on a tryout walk back out the same way — no deal, just a handshake and a flight home. Reid Holskey didn't.

Holskey is an offensive lineman, the kind of position that lives and dies in the trenches, mostly invisible to casual fans but never invisible to the coaches watching film on Monday morning. What his path looked like before Denver's mandatory spring sessions is thin on detail, but the fact that he arrived without a contract and left with one says something on its own.

The Denver Broncos brought Holskey in as a tryout player during their recent spring sessions — essentially an audition in front of the whole organization. He did enough. The team signed him once the practices wrapped.

For a player without a team, that's the whole game. One shot in front of the right people, and the door opens.
