Not as bad as it looked — Kenyon Sadiq is coming back

Core-muscle surgery sounds serious. And it is. But the New York Jets got a bit of a reprieve this week when head coach Aaron Glenn said the news on tight end Kenyon Sadiq was "pretty good" — a few more weeks on the sideline, then back to work.

Sadiq had the surgery recently, and the kind of recovery window Glenn is describing is the difference between a blip and a lost season. For a young tight end trying to carve out a real role, that gap matters more than it might look from the outside.

A few weeks is still a few weeks. But the Jets are apparently not planning around a long absence — and Sadiq gets to keep building toward something.
