Rachaad White

No. 1 · 5th season

One year, one shot, and an offense that might actually fit

Rachaad White showed up to Washington Commanders minicamp — the team's offseason practice sessions — with something specific to prove, and not a lot of time to prove it.

White is a running back on a one-year deal, which is the NFL's way of saying: impress us, and we'll talk. A short contract like this is a chance to earn a bigger one, but only if the season goes right. The people watching minicamp noticed White's name come up more than once — a quiet signal that someone is making an impression before the games even start.

The offense being built around him, led by David Blough, is said to suit his style. That's not nothing. A back who fits the system isn't just a roster piece; they become part of the plan.

One season to make the case. White knows the math.

Rachaad White and K’Lavon Chaisson were two names that came up a few times during my visit to #Commanders minicamp yesterday. Both on one-year deals with a chance to set up free agency again next year. David Blough’s offense should suit White well.
