Pettis has been in the league for seven years, spending time across four different franchises — all of them in the NFC. That kind of journey doesn't happen by accident, and it doesn't happen without someone repeatedly believing a player still has something to give.

The Buffalo Bills worked Pettis out alongside a small group of wide receivers and then signed him. That's the whole transaction, on paper. But for a veteran who's been building and rebuilding his case for years, a signing is a signing.
