Stiggers collapses during practice, hospitalized and under concussion protocol.
Qwan'tez Stiggers, a cornerback for the New York Jets, collapsed during a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday. He lost consciousness during the incident and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Head coach Aaron Glenn said the medical staff responded exceptionally, and that Stiggers was conscious and talking by the time the ambulance arrived. Stiggers was released from the hospital following the incident.
He has been placed in the NFL's concussion protocol. The immediate response from the Jets' medical team prevented what could have been far worse, but Stiggers now faces the standard evaluation and return-to-play process that follows a significant head injury.
