Running Back · New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara

No. 41 · 10th season

Ten years, all-time leading rusher, and he's staying in New Orleans

The offseason had plenty of reasons to wonder if Alvin Kamara was done with New Orleans. The Saints signed a new running back in free agency, trade rumors ran loud, and the whole thing had the feel of a quiet goodbye building in real time.

Kamara has spent nine seasons in New Orleans becoming the city's own — a five-time Pro Bowl selection and the Saints' all-time leading rusher. That is the kind of career that earns you the right to wonder what comes next, and for a while this spring, "what comes next" was genuinely in question.

Now there is an answer. Kamara and the Saints finalized a reworked deal that brings him back for a tenth season, a base salary of six million dollars for 2026.

Ten years with one team is rare in this league. Players get moved, situations change, front offices run the math and decide someone else fits better. Kamara watched all of that play out around him this spring and came out the other side still a Saint. For a fanbase that has watched him carry the ball and carry the culture, that matters in a way a number can't fully describe.

The question now is what a tenth year looks like — and whether Kamara has something left to say about it.
