Some players survive a setback. Shavon Revel Jr. is the kind who seems to file it under unfinished business.

Revel is a cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, and his path to the NFL already had a detour built in before he ever played a professional snap. A knee injury he suffered in college followed him into his rookie season, keeping him sidelined for the first ten games — more than half the year gone before he got to show what he came here to do.

When he did return, the ambition was apparently intact. Revel has said he expects to become the best cornerback in the league someday. Not one of the best. The best.
