No. 94 · 2nd season
Year two, a new role, and something to prove
Rookie years are hard. For Landon Jackson, last season was proof of that.
Jackson spent his first year in the NFL finding his footing on the Buffalo Bills' defense — the kind of season you file away and learn from rather than frame and hang. Now he's heading into year two with something different waiting for him: a new defensive role, opened up by a scheme change, that puts more on his plate.
That's either a gift or a test, depending on how ready he is.
The Bills are hoping for the former. A player handed a bigger job in their second season is being told, in the clearest way a team can say it, that someone believes they're ready. What Jackson does with that belief is the whole question now.
